St. Edmund's Scout and Guide Hall, within the church campus, was designed and built for young people's activities and is an ideal venue for boisterous children's parties, keep fit classes and similar events.
In recent years we have completely rebuilt the kitchen and toilets, fitted double glazing throughout and installed hi-tech wall insulation in our sloping roofs.
We have also fitted a new central heating system which has proved its mettle during cold winters.
As well as parties, hirers have used the Hall for rehearsals, concerts, dances, and barbecues.
The distinctive tent design and spacious surroundings are good for everything from a rowdy children's party to a fund raising tea party and fashion show.
Our hire fees remain the most competitive for a single hall venue in the area. The basic charge is £20 per hour, so a three hour children's party will cost £60. This had to be increased on 01/03/23 to take into account our new electricity supply contract.
(The adjacent Church Hall is more suitable for larger, more sophisticated events, having two large halls and a bigger kitchen.)
In general we would prefer a minimum three hour hire. We have found this allows plenty of pre-party preparation time, and clearing away after the event. Longer periods can be arranged.
Your payment must be made by bank transfer.
Our bank details are listed on the booking form.
The hall is in use every weekday evening by the Guides and Scouts in school term time, but is available for hire most Saturdays and Sundays and evenings and weekdays during school holidays.
